After stints at The Test Kitchen and Dinner by Heston in London, South African-born chef Ash Heeger is back. Her new Cape Town restaurant, ASH, focuses on charcoal cooked pasture-reared meats. “The time of excess is over and people want to know where their food comes from: they’re being much more health conscious. I think it’s going to progress to another level within the next few years,” she says.
In addition to speaking at the Spier Secret Festival, Heeger will also be cooking lunch for the delegates.
