Local and international experts on food and wine presented talks, workshops, tastings and dinner events at the annual Spier Secret Festival conference on Spier wine farm in October 2014. In combination, the Spier Secret Market offered the finest local food and produce and a selection of Spier’s wine.
The annual Spier Secret Festival is a celebration of Spier’s rich vinous heritage – which is almost as old as the farm itself. Conference attendees will be able to taste and learn about Spier 21 Gables, Spier’s flagship wine range named after the historic gables on the farm, focusing on Chenin Blanc and Pinotage, South Africa’s two heritage varietals.
Continuing its focus on ethical food production, the Spier Secret conference aims to explore what concepts like artisanal and sustainability really mean to those who farm, cook and enjoy food.
Local and international experts shared the latest trends and inspiration in food and wine at the Spier Secret Festival conference in October.
In October, the Spier Secret Market showcased Spier’s full range of wines and hosted some of the region’s best small producers, bakers, street food vendors, food trucks and restaurants with plenty of farm-style entertainment for kids.
